Objectives of the Complaint Box for Equal Opportunity Cell
The Complaint Box for Equal Opportunity Cell has been set up for the students of Maynaguri College to lodge complaints regarding discrimination based on gender, religion, race, caste, especially for SCs, STs, socially and educationally backward classes and economically weaker sections.
Its objectives include the elimination of all forms of discrimination and fostering a healthy, inclusive and equitable environment within the institution.
The College’s Equal Opportunity Cell oversees this mechanism. Students can directly submit complaints here regarding the aforementioned forms of discrimination. Subsequently, the complainant must assist the investigating team by providing appropriate evidence.
However, if a complaint is found to be false or is made with malicious intent to harass someone, the complainant may face disciplinary action. If the complaint involves matters falling under the Indian Penal Code, it may be referred to the local police authorities.
